Friends of Kelly Avenue Park Welcomes You
Help us to create a happy and safe environment
for the local community in Peckham
About us
Our Roots
Friends of Kelly Avenue Park is a community organisation based in Peckham, South London.
Our broad aim is to make sure that Kelly Avenue Park and the surrounding area is a safe and happy place for local residents. Our first more specific aim was to get the Southwark Council-run community centre based in the park open for community use – it was closed for a number of years, despite containing excellent facilities. This was achieved in January 2020! Now, our focus is on maintaining the park
as a community hub, of particular importance during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Our roots lie in the Peckham branch of Citizens UK, which got us our first funding award back in August 2016 and organised a community fun day to raise awareness about the issues facing the park,
the community centre within the park and the immediate surrounding area.
Since then we have gone from strength to strength, winning further funding awards which have allowed us to make the community fun day an annual arrangement, to build a path through the park for better access and to set up art workshops for local children. We also host monthly 'working parties'
where a group gather to clean up the park and meet other local, like-minded people.

We are always looking for new members, volunteers and partners
so please do get in touch if you would like to help or get involved.
